70 and Sunny (Friday's Post)

I decided to do Black Friday shopping this year since the ads showed 3 or 4 things I still needed on my list for the kids.  I love Black Friday shopping, and I am not afraid to admit that.

I thought that instead of being crazy and going to 5am I would wait and hit Target at 6am which I did.  I was in and out in 21 minutes and bought everything I needed. Then I went to Walmart and was there for 44 minutes bought a few things there and was home by 8:15am.

It was FABULOUS.

I came home showered and then had my parents meet us at my FAVORITE park. Big Dry Creek Park so we had fun there.

I don't think you all truly get the Love Lucas has for Grandpa Horn.  It is special.

Crazy Static!

Scarlett Loves Grandma Horn.

Hahaha.

 Playing Frisbee.

Bridget scraped her nose and needed some consoling that only Grandparents can give.
After the park we went to Mimi's Cafe and while we were waiting for a table Grandpa read The Fire Cat to the kids. It was so cute.

Scarlett was wooing the guy on the other side of the bench.

After we ate Nathan took the kids home and I went with my parents to Christmas shop for the kids since they were here they could buy and wrap everything and not have to ship it! Cool huh?
I had fun with my parents and My dad found something at Walmart that he wanted for Christmas...

A Camo Orange Hunting Jacket! LOL
When we were done Christmas shopping we came home and wrapped everything and then it was time for dinner believe it or not!  So we headed downtown, to Uncle Ben's restaurant LoHi Steakhouse for some Good Eats.  We met up with Jared and Erin for dinner and after we went to go see the Illumination of Denver. This is where they light up the city with Christmas Lights, it was really fun to get out and walk the city.

It was a little cold, but nothing the kids couldn't handle.
Lucas was so sweet, while we were waiting for the Mall Ride to come a woman gave him a glow stick, and he said thank you, and then he turned around and said "Umm, My sister Bridget needs one too" so they scrambled around to get one for her, it was so nice. :)

We got off at Larimer Square and looked at all of the street vendors shops the kids loved it!

A candid moment with Jared and Erin.

Part of the 16th Street Mall.

It was beautiful.
We got home at 10 and the kids were out, it was such a fun night!

22 people (Thursday's Post)

I hosted Thanksgiving this year, but didn't really do much of the cooking.  Veronica's parents brought half of the meal, and my mother in  law Cindy brought everything else, including tablescapes, appetizers, and the rest of the meal.  I made a few things and my parents made a few things.

Here was the guest list:
Phil & Joyce Horn,  Chuck and Lue Howard, Gary and Cindy with Spencer and Alex, Ryan and Veronica with Elijah and Noah, Nathan and Valerie with Lucas, Bridget, and Scarlett, Jared and Erin, Ben, Chris and Megan.  It was a full house!

Here are some of the highlights:

The kids made all of the place cards and I must say...they were adorable!

A quick squeeze before everyone came!

The kids watching TV to avoid getting trampled.

Playing some street football.

More outdoor games...did I mention it was 65 on Thanksgiving day?  Just BEAUTIFUL!

The spread, minus the table in the kitchen and the kids table by the front door.

The Dutch Oven Turkey was ready to be sliced.

Megan and Erin chatting on the stairs with me.

I made marble pumpkin cheesecake, Nathan went a little crazy with the caramel topping.

My kids loved Jared and Erin.

We played games, I was laughing at I don't know but this is the only picture of me the entire night!

More fun.

The grandmas rolling dough.

Bridget was Erins best friend when she wasn't performing for attention from everyone else.

Bridget hi-fiving Grandpa.

Even though it was a little stressful and a lot of work, Thanksgiving was a lot of fun, and I am grateful to have family and friends here in Colorado. I am also grateful that my parents came and spent time with us.  I am so happy we weren't alone and had didn't have a quiet evening, there is something to be said about loud people, laughing and stuffing their faces all day...oh wait that's what Thanksgiving is all about! Family.

An Albertson's Suprise (Wednesday's Post)

My parents came for Thanksgiving and we decided to surprise the kids at the cookie counter.  I should have sat behind my parents for the video because my kids faces were classic!

This was Wednesday, stay tuned for the next few days we had a blast!

Two and a half

Inches.

Gone.

I know its not a big deal to you, but I am not a make up or fingernail polish or even dressy made up girl, so when we cut hair in this house its a big deal.  We went to Natalie's to get Bridget's 2nd Hair cut and I love it so much.  I again was chicken and thought 2 inches was too much but Natalie was right...2.5 looks GREAT!

She looks like Bridget again.  She will have years and years of long hair but when your little you sometimes just need a bob! What do you think Bridget?

It's alright, at least it doesn't get in my face anymore! :)

Wants vs Needs

I want a new oven/stove.

But I need a new dishwasher.

One that preferrably has a built in baby gate, and if not - one that has a door that can handle a 22 pound 8 month old who loves to climb on it.

Any suggestions?

Sometimes...

...runny noses are fun!

because that means that we stay home all day and this time build a tent!

Watch it snow...

Experiment in the kitchen...

Try something new...

Watch a movie in the tent...

Steal some grub in the tent...

Snuggle with Daddy...

Giggle a lot and then make oatmeal chocolate chip cookies!

We stayed home for 2 full days and now everyone is better.  I love family time!
Don't you?

I am two now!

Here is the birthday song from last year...she was so fat! :)

And here is this year:

This baby is now two! I can't believe how fast it went! I posted her birth story last year HERE. So this year we are going to talk all about Bridget.
8 months

*All about Bridget*

Age* 1 year 26.3 pounds, 33.2 inches
Age* 2 years 38.2 pounds 35 inches

Foods she liked at 1* Everything, especially sandwich meat. This girl is a human garbage can, no joke, there is nothing she won't try! If you put veggies and fruit on her plate, she will eat the veggies first, just like her brother.
Foods she likes at 2* She loves pasta, cheese, yogurt, any chicken EXCEPT nuggets (she doesn't like the breadding), she loves salmon and spinach and her favorite fruit is pineapple.
Least favorite foods* Olives (still), Bell Peppers

Bridget's 1st Birthday
Favorite dessert* "laloween candy"

Favorite toys* She loves her bebes, she has named them all. Brittany is the pink one with the bonnet, Carrie is the one with braids, Lindsey is the yellow one that moves, Rissa is her brunette cabagge patch, Bree is the red head. She loves little people and now likes to steal anything that Scarlett is playing with.

20 months
What she's good at* Talking. She loves to talk and not the jibber jabber stuff she tries really hard to speak clear enough so anyone can understand her. She also is very good at not letting her height get in the way. She knows how to move chairs and stools to get what she wants, like butter on the counter for instance. :)

Favorite activities* Dancing and singing. She is almost always singing to us in the van. She loves to paint and do projects a lot too.

Things she's afraid of* Being lost, and alone.
23 months
Something Mommy loves about Bridget* She has such a love for adventure. I almost always will find her at a park doing some near death stunt, and when I get scared she says "I'm okay" I love that she loves babies, I mean she will love on and kiss her pretend ones and any kid she sees in the ward it is so cute.
Something Daddy loves about Bridget* She gives the best hugs and kisses, and her little high pitched voice when she gets mad is so funny, its hard not to laugh.  When Bridget is in a full on crying fit I usually can get her out of it pretty fast by smiling at her.  She is a great sister too.
Something Lucas loves about Bridget* Her smile, and she always throws her baby in her room when I ask her to play firetrucks with me. And if I ask mommy for something, and she says no...Bridget will know how to climb where ever to get it for me.
Something Scarlett loves about Bridget* She loves to play with me.

So Happy Birthday Bridge, Bridgey-Lou, Bridge the Fridge, and Bigit.

You will always be our princess and our STAR!
