The shiner

Yes, shiner as in black eye! Yesterday Lucas and a friend were playing, and bumped into each other...we went to the ER because blood was everywhere and getting into his eye! He was great, didn't cry and got 3 lollipops out of it! Here it was yesterday....
and here it is today....
Oh, were you wondering where Bridget was during all of this...here she is, gave up on being picked up and put into her crib for nap, so she just passed out on the floor, wrapped up in my cardigan!

Gee, I can't wait till it looks nice and green on Thursday! :)

Our Weekend Review

Friday I was asked to watch the Jones kids, because their Aunt was sick so I picked them up and had the van full of 6 children! Went to McD's and ate it at the park. Now, at this point most of you should be thinking are you crazy? you took 6 kids to the park? The answer to that is YES! How did I do it? Here's how...

In order: Larke 20 months, Bridget 6 months, Lucas 22 months, Gideon 5, Ali 5.5, Eden 3

What is even crazier you ask? I had to take 6 kids potty with my single stroller, because I left my double stroller in the garage! So this is how I did that...

Do you see Larke behind Bridget? Lucas on top...yeah...I call it Creative!

How did I watch 6 kids at the park? I had Bridget on me, Lucas and Larke in the swings and was chasing everyone else around, actually it wasn't that bad...***Note to self***Don't EVER put a 24 pound 6month old in a Snuggli on a hot day! Bleech!Lucas wanted to do everything the big kids were doing so Ali kept an eye on him!

Saturday we went to Ryan and Veronica's house...played for a while, came home and napped and then planted some veggies! Nathan came home really late and Lucas was asking when he got to go to Daddy's house...(meaning work) Nathan just got a promotion so he has had to work every other Saturday! AAHH!!!

Sunday was Mother's Day. Nathan and I spoke at church, it wasn't too bad. Lucas didn't like that I was up on the stand but he was very good and got to play with a new truck we got him to distract him. I spoke for 22 minutes. It didn't really seem that long, but because of the primary musical number Nathan was only able to give 20% of his talk. oh well...The Mickelsons had Bridget and she was happy to be passed around.

I received a lot of compliments after church about my talk, and when we got home there were 2 messages on the phone from people thanking me for my talk! It was weird! Lucas and Bridget were so cute after church. Here they are hugging and stuff, and we really like this dress from Lue and Chuck (V's parents)

I am so grateful for my family, my friends, my kids and especially my husband for making this Mother's day extra special!

Diary of a 6 month old

I am usually pretty happy. I like to watch my brother, my mother and sometimes my daddy. I am very good at smiling, laughing, and rolling around. I like to climb on my brother, steal his toys, and get him in trouble. One of my favorite things right now is to sitt on my belly and act like a seal. See the picture below.
Another one of my favorite things right now is to fake cry when ever I see my brother. If my mommy is near I just make the face not the sound that comes with it. Again, usually while I am pretending to be a seal. See below.
Often, I ponder what I can do to get my brother in trouble. I like to take his trains and lick them and suck on them so that he cries that they are "yuck, gross" This is me eyeing the ball that is in his hand right now, while he is hugging mommy.
I am very good at seal crawling, and I can pretty much get to anything I want in the house. Currenly I am watching my family members walk and climb up the stairs. I think that will be my next adventure. Muah hahahaha. -Bridget Louise Witte

What a difference 4 months makes...

Elijah almost 2 months, Bridget almost 6 months...
You forget how little they are at the beginning, except that my kids are never little. Hahaha
Just thought I'd share

I PULLED IT OFF

Nathan turned 30 April 27, and I had been planning a Suprise party for him since January. His whole family was flying out, and we were going to meet at a restaurant. He had no idea. It was a big suprise, and I am glad all of the Wittes were able to make it. Here is a slide show...

When I say whole family, I mean it...

Cory, Ben 22, Gary, Cindy, Nathan 30, Chris 17, Ryan 26, baby Elijah...next row Liz 24, Lucas, Valerie, Veronica, Noah....next row Jared 28, baby Bridget, Alex 12, Spencer 15.

CRAZY! The stress is over, and I am glad we all were able to hang out on Sunday and have a good visit with everyone. We will have to see everyone again soon because Lucas is already asking "where Liz?" and looking for all of the people who spoiled him with attention this weekend!

P.S. I did cut my hair! 8 inches to be exact!

prep

Getting ready for our busy month of May.
Besides all of the snow we got today and playing in it, we had to go get sick Daddy...

(the kids in the 1950's elevator)

..and test out some beds for Auntie Liz & Uncle Cory and everyone else who is here this month...

(Nathan sleeping, Lucas playing)

Unload everything...

(Lucas on top of the van!)

And then have some wrestling time. Now for those of you who don't believe that Bridget is the most chill baby out there...Now that she is crawling...she gives Lucas piggy Back Rides without even fussing! The girl is wonder woman!

(see she doen't even care!)

Don't be Jealous!

Yesterday here in "Colorful Colorado" (that is what the sign says as you enter or leave the state) it was a Whopping 80 degrees. Sunny, Warm, Hot even...depending on who you ask.

Then today it is 38 degrees and wait for it...wait for it...SNOWING! I mean seriously Colorado...it is hard enough to get my Dad to visit me, and then this? Snowing in May? Everytime I even mention to him that he should come out here it snows! I told him in February that May would be a great time to visit and on May 1st is SNOWS?
Lucas woke up this morning and said "short day?" I said no today is a boots and jacket day and he looked at me like...wait we went swimming yesterday, how could this be? He looked outside and wanted to go play in it. So I let him...
And in true Lucas form he has his favorite toy with him...his "coo-diiva" (screwdriver)
All he really cared about was catching it and eating it! Hehehehe
and that it snowed on his hair...

At least it doesnt stick to the ground....or does it?

So don't be Jealous of our weather! I know you wished you lived in a state where the tempurature fluctuates this much!
