Witte-Ker?

Lucas finally got to have his buddy Robert over. For most of you who read this blog know that Robert is Lucas's bestest friend. They have such a fun little time together and luckily Robert doesn't mind Bridget tagging along.

Lucas asks me almost daily if we are going to see Robert on our daily errands and such. I always tell him no, and he says that it is okay because on Sunday he gets to see Robert. Did I mention that Sunday is Lucas's favorite day? It used to be Thursday but now, for the summer it is Sunday. :)

Robert brought his basketball like he usually does and this time Lucas noticed that on his ball was his name. I told him it was his last name Whitaker. Lucas said no, Witte. I said Robert's last name is Whitaker. Both of them laughed and said Witte-ker? I showed them that they have a lot of letters the same. They thought that was cool, and kept saying it Witte-ker.

We went out front and played a new game I made up. I am currently working out the rules and name of this game but here is how it looked...

I am so glad we have great grass and a nice big established Cottonwood tree in the front of our house, it is so nice and shady on hot days like today!

Bridget was just trying to be involved. It was so funny.

This game is a cross between hopscotch and running crazy while catching the ball. They loved it. They threw the ball in and then hopped through the hoops to catch it. They tried kicking it in and rolling it in, running over them and then rolling through them. I wish I was 3 so I could have has much fun as they seemed to be having.

Thanks Robert for coming over and having a few good laughs!
I am sure I will be hearing about this day for the next few days...well at least until Sunday!

My kids begged me to watch Super Why before nap, so I took that as I have 22 minutes to blog, well...I came up and this is what I found...

Neat, I mean Great

I just love when our ward has park day and NOBODY shows up. (sarcastic) Everyone in my ward HATES the purple park, and yet every year it seems to be on the list and every time Wednesday lands on the purple park no one seems to show up. It happened both times last year and this year the first of 2x this summer no one came. Why is it still on the list? I am still trying to figure it out.

Any way we didn't need anyone to be there to have a good time. Lucas asked me several times where is friends were and I told him that he smelled bad and no one wanted to be around him, he laughed and said that it had to be Scarlett because she still wears diapers! Hahaha.

The kids did their usual, Bridget surprising me more and more with her "if he can do it I can do it" attitude...I mean the chick even went down the fire pole! Lucas was happy to run and be crazy, Bridget was and probably will always be the crazy one.

Scarlett was talking up a storm, she was telling me that the children torture her when I am blogging and that she would prefer to be in my arms while I am typing. She also told me she is ready for baby food. The cereal and formula isn't as tasty as it used to be.

It wasn't a complete loss, I mean Bridget prefers sunbathing alone anyway...

After the short 45 minutes at the park we went swimming with Kathy and Rachel. There are no pictures of this because I was trying to keep Bridget from drowning since she felt that she didn't need me to hold her the entire time. Bridget thought it was funny to climb out of the floatie and try and jump off the stairs while I wasn't looking. Lucas had a great time until we left and he cried because he wanted to be in Grandpa's pool next.

When they woke up from nap Lucas said to me "I had a really neat, I mean great time today mom. I am lucky that you have so many friends." It was so funny, I had to make that the blog title! :)

Color Discovery

Today for Art day we learned about Primary and Secondary Colors. We watched the Blue's Clues Episode because I think the song is catchy. We then did Barrel Painting. We were supposed to do this with Chrystal, but I was sick of the barrels being in my kitchen so we did it today.

This is what we used...
2 barrels (one cheese ball, one animal cracker)
2 Hot Wheels Cars
2 Bobby Pins
2 Arthurs (the Arthur figurines seem to be in every experiment)
2 Pennies
2 Q-tips
2 Legos
Washable Paint (I got this at Sam's and it had 15 packs of 6 paints for 11 dollars!)
Sketch Paper (not thick like cardstock, but not thin like computer paper)
Tape
Spoon
Wipes

We taped the paper inside and talked about the colors we were going to make. Lucas of course wanted to make green. Bridget is really into "Or-nch." The kids had fun shaking, rolling and kicking the barrels. This is what round one looked like.

We then had to do it again of course, so we did purple and orange and yellow. It was so neat to see the different objects in the paint. We could spot - Arthur in the green ones, the penny in the red one, the car in the purple one, and in the orange one the Q-Tip. It was so cool. We peeked periodically to see the changes that were happening. The kids seemed so into it! :)

Then we let them dry and the kids had a rock party in the backyard. They love to dig!

After they were dry I cut them into strips and we made father's day cards and and framed the ones for our Art Wall. They turned out GREAT!
Once again, Lil' Scarlett just sat in her swing happy to watch the excitement. Poor thing...in about a month I will get her more involved. :)

I think we will be doing this again soon. If anyone wants to borrow the barrels let me know! :)

Our Saturday

I went to the Kirtsy Hands on Social Media Session with Natalie. It was at the Curtis Hotel downtown and it was such a funky modern hotel. They had a lot of information that I already knew, but let's face it I was really there to meet Design Mom. I think she is so cool and thought it would be fun to meet her. I was not disappointed. I got to talk about blogger and also shed some new light on the blog printing process, even the speaker didn't know as much as I did about the whole thing. I did a little networking for my business and then saw 2 other people that I knew there (suprise, suprise) One person asked me about my book and another person I knew through Danielle. I am glad I went with Natalie it was fun.

Then I came home and was welcomed with hugs and kisses from my little ones, fed them lunch and put them down for nap. I then went over to Natalie's to get my hair cut. (see post below)

After that we packed the kids into the car and drove back to Denver to go see the Christmas Carol traveling train. Disney had a train come to town where you could see how the movie was made, look at the costumes, listen to carolers, and morph your face into one of the characters. After that we got to see 15 minutes of the movie that comes out November 6th in 3D! We also went to the Paramount Cafe for dinner, and it was a good place where you could feed a family of 4 for under $25.

While we were waiting for RV to get there Nathan took the kids into Union Station to see inside a real train station. I love the architecture of this building, it makes me wish we were actually going to take a train (like on our honeymoon) I think train travel albeit slow is so romantic! :)


Instead of waiting 2.5 hours in line for the movie train we took the mall ride to the restaurant first. Lucas almost fell off the train and everyone on the train (even strangers) yelled "No!!" to Lucas I look around and everyone has a sigh of relief that he stayed on the bus! Whew! The entire bus ride Lucas is repeating the voice recording saying to stay on the bus and after we left he told me he is so happy he got to ride Daddy's bus. It was cute.

Here are the kids at the restaurant. They were so cute and the waitress told me and Veronica that everyone in the back was admiring our cuties. I'm not gonna lie it made us proud! :)

Something wonderful and magical happened while we were in the Cafe...Nathan got 11 ice cubes in his cup and it DUMPED rain!
So we hurried back to the mall ride, where the kids enjoyed puddle jumping.

We got back to the movie thing and guess what...the line was only a 40 minute wait! So Nathan and Ryan moved the cars (because Nathan was freaking out about 2 hour parking)

and I got the mommies and kids pictures while we waited.

Once we got into the train they had pictures and costumes of the characters.

They had touch screen monitors in one of the cars so you could play games and stuff relating to the movie. They had models of the actual town in another car.

After 9 cars of things to see and do the last 2 cars was a place where you can take your picture and morph into one of the characters. Walmart would then print them for you in a few days. Cool huh? I can't wait to post those! After that we headed to the movie line.
We were able to see a sneak peak of the movie in 3D!

It was a little loud and while Lucas and Noah were talking about how scary it was Bridget was laughing the entire time, with an evil laugh!

The whole experience reminded me of when Nathan and I saw the Polar Express in 3D at my parents house before we were married. It made me want to ride the train again. As we were leaving I snapped this cool picture...
Doesn't it make you want it to be winter, and travel somewhere by train?

I can't wait to see this movie at the theater, probably without my kids (its a little dark) We had a great time. The kids were so muddy afterwards that Nathan stayed home and bathed the kids while I went over to see Laura and her kids before they went back to Utah. Laura's Dad even gave me an awesome compliment about how we are raising our kids and it totally made my day! :) And that was our jam packed day.

Buh-Bye!

I went to Natalie's to get a trim, because I changed my mind on how short I was actually going to cut it and when I got there she told me how glad she was that I was not going to be chicken and chop it all off! So I said umm, okay let's do it. I really like how it turned out, 6 1/2 inches later! :)

What do you think? Nathan said I look younger and the man at the grocery store told me I look great for having 3 kids! Hahaha. I was just sick of having the same hairstyle since I was 19 and sick of the 3 month post partum shedding! :) Thanks Natalie you did a great job!
