11 and 1

This is not what I was planning on talking about today. I have an 11 month old and 1 kid in diapers. I thought for sure I would have 3 in diapers come this March but Lucas has really surprised me lately on the whole potty training front. He doesn't want me to go in, he doesn't want me to ask, he just wants to do it himself. I am fine with this, but a little sad at the same time. I tried and tried and he finally informed me that he doesn't like the briefs with the characters on them he likes the boxer briefs so he can be big boy like daddy. Fine I said, and off we went to get him some big boy undies. I guess they are much easier since he has to wear a 3T and is so skinny. The other undies would just slip right off! :) hehehe He is so cute just lounging around in them, I love it. I am proud of my 2.3 year old!
I was a little worried about all of these extra undies that I bought that he now doesn't like, but I have found that my 11 months old has figured out what to do with them...
She has become such a cutie lately. She was trying them on, and playing with them, and I guess I can call it dress up? Haha I am just kidding. I have so many cute jammies for her to wear, but when she sees the DINOSAUR jammies in the drawer she always wants to wear them. I guess Lucas did get a little brother after all! :) I mean her first word besides mom and dad was Bob, as in Bob the builder! Hahahaha

A Happy Tuesday

I am very happy to report that so far all 16 blood tests, my 2 mams, and the ultrasounds taken yesterday all came back normal, positive and great, so what a scary 24 hours that was for our family! Sorry to leave everyone hanging, I was really upset and didn't want to get into it until today.

Our day started out great with a breakfast at our house with the Pabst girls, and their cute kids.
Lucas and Bridget had fun with everyone and it was nice to visit with everyone before they had to head back to Utah.Emily and Kylie digging in!
Bridget begging Maddie for some eggs. Hahaha
I managed to get a cute one of everyone on the couch (below)
Emily 2, Kylie 4, Bridget 11 months, Lucas 2, Nathan 11.5 months, Maddie 2.5
I love this one because everyone is looking at Lucas screaming Cheeseburger.
Typical Lucas the center of attention! :)

I am so glad they came.

Drama

After my dramatic and very very scary 4 hour OB appointment this morning, I am glad to report that the drama wasn't completely over until after nap time and we went outside to check the mail. Man I love the fall, not only for the clothes but for the awesome weather and the leaves falling. Today Bridget discovered the leaves and was so cute about it! :) It almost made me forget all of the awful things that happened today and last month! whew! Yea for fall! (and if you click on this pic^ you can see her toofers there are 2!)

Bridget looks like my Grandpa Jerry in this picture (below)

A Treat

This morning we opened our door to this!
A special treat from our ward's neighborhood treat phantom! They did this last year at Christmas time, but this year I guess they are starting early! :) I thought Sunday's session would be a perfect time to make, bake and decorate cupcakes for the two houses we are supposed to hit by Tuesday, so that is what Lucas and I did today.

He was very excited to sport his new apron! This one is from Auntie Steph. He loves to cook and clean so this was a perfect little suprise gift for him! :)
He wanted to make chocolate cakes with wite frostin', so we did and in honor of Noggin's October song we topped them with Candy Corn.
Lucas assured me that he needed to taste 2 cakes to make sure they were all okay. I thik they turned out pretty cute.
And now for the song...
I dedicate this song to Bridget and Gwendolyn Smith, who this song mostly applies to! :)

My Boulder-ite Conversion

Today after the morning session, we packed up the kids, Nathan made a sack lunch and headed to Chautauqua Park in Boulder for a picnic lunch in the mountains.
You may think conversion? What do you mean? Well the fact that Bridget looked like a Fraggle from Fraggle rock and the fact that We packed a lunch is only half of it. What did Nathan pack for us? Let's get into it shall we?Nathan made sandwiches on homemade whole wheat bread that I made (yes I grind wheat) and we had tomatoes from our backyard so...organic! We had organic apples, organic cheese, and Sun Chips! Hahahaha By the way that is our tye-dyed kitchen towel that I bleached it on accident so that just adds to our hippie ways for the day. Did we drink from water bottles, no we drank from our Sigg Bottles, because we care about mother earth! LOL Even a native Boulderite came up to us and was telling us how crazy we were to have our kids so close together, so then we surprised her when we told her we were having a third! I also mentioned that I didn't shave my legs today either, just to make her feel better! Just Kidding!

The kids managed to find this awesome playground right in the heart of Chautaugua so we played for a bit.
Bridget is such a daredevil! Maybe it was just her wild hair day today! :)
After the park we went to the huge open field for some sight seeing and soccer. The leaves were beautiful! The flat-iron mountains weren't to shabby either.
Then we headed up to the mountain, Lucas really wanted to see the map so Nathan showed him the route!
This is only partly up the mountain, but you get the idea, it was so beautiful and I am so glad we went! :) Then we left Boulder and went to Flat Irons Mall. I needed to pick up Bridget's Janie and Jack Dress, for her 1 year old pictures. The best part about the mall was this sign...
Because we DOUBLE qualify to park close to the front! Hahaha The kids wanted to get out and see the waterfalls so we chilled there for a bit.
We had such a good day and I wanted to share it with all of you. Yea!
P.S. Don't worry we are not turning into crunchy people, it was just a joke!

Wildlife it's an Experience

Literally! We drove to Littleton and went to the Wildlife Museum. I am SO GLAD WE WENT!

We drove Nathan into work this morning so he could show off the kids, and then we went to the Museum.

I see the commercials and hear nothing about it, but I am going to tell all of you with Toddlers...It is a great museum. It is set up so that everything is eye level. They have a baby-2 year old room with magnets, puzzles and all sorts of cool stuff, like puppets, blocks and animals that are just for little ones.

Then they have a room that looks like you are actually in wild Colorado. They have televisions with touch buttons so toddlers and preschoolers can explore and learn all sorts of things about habitats and then they have telescopes and other exploring things for the kids to wear and search for mini bugs and creatures. It was really cool.

After that we went to the Animal Grossology exhibit. It was really gross, Bridget loved this place, then they had a coloring center and a little art project for you to do and then you go on your merry way. We opted for the Learning Den.

There was an ELEPHANT chasing me and Bridget! The museum was taking pictures of Lucas and Bridget in this area because they were in the process of making the new brochures for the new year. We were asked to be in some of the pictures and they gave Lucas a tub of mini animals and gave us 6 free tickets to come again. We have a year and a half to use them, isn't that so cool? The main reason we went to the museum was to go to the golfing exhibit so we went there next...

We had a great time and I hope you guys go too, it is really a great place! All of these pictures are clickable, so click on them to see them bigger, especially to golfing ones they are really cute! :) I love that Lucas told the golfing guy that he was wearing a golfin' shirt like grandpa!
I have to say that I was so grateful that I blow dried and straightened my hair this morning and actually looked cute for being a weird shape (since I am not looking pregnant-pregnant yet) because we had about 3 people snapping pictures of us for that brochure. I would also like to note that someone asked me if I was the nanny because I look too young to have 2 kids. That just made me laugh!

What the ?!?!

My Mother in Law has told me and Veronica several times that one day you will put your baby to sleep and when they wake up they look grown up, like a totally different person.

Bridget just had one of those days. She doesn't look like a teenager or anything like that but man today she just doesn't look like my fat little frankfurter anymore. I put her in some big girl jeans, and a big girl shirt and did her hair and she walked off like a little toddler. This makes me a little sad but I have 6 more months to anticipate another little baby who will also eventually grow up. :(

She is the best baby when it comes to doing hair. She has so much of it covering her ears that I have had to start putting it up. She will sit in front of the mirror and laugh and smile till I am all done and then she just waits until I am ready to put her down.

I am not a girly girl in any way, shape or form, but I think my Bridgey will be...I guess we will have to wait and see!
