Egg-cellent!

So the weather cooperated with me today and I told the kids that the eggs were outside and ready to be hunted. Lucas quickly grabbed some shoes (his church shoes) and was patiently waiting at the door. I had the game card ready and explained how we hunt, Lucas could only hunt for the green, orange and blue eggs and Bridget could only hunt for the pink, purple, and yellow. Some had stickers on them and they had to match the sticker with the corresponding bucket. Lucas was all about helping his sister figure it out. She was nice enough not to scream or hit him during this process. :)

The kids were so nice to each other and friendly I couldn't believe my eyes!
They even hugged when it was all over...

I mean they are not even posing! Well maybe in this one...

but not this one...

Then they had to find the only hard boiled egg out in the grass.
The first person to find it got a special prize...

Lucas closed his eyes and when he opened it he was so excited
"Oh, Mommy it's Woo-hoo! I wanted Woo-Hoo so bad. Thank-You, Thank-You, I love it, I love you. I need to call my Daddy and Thank him!"
(Woo-Hoo is the only Geo-Trax train that you can not buy online or at any store, but he is in the Geo-Trax movies. It is Lucas's FAVORITE train and team member. Target had him in an easter set and when we went looking Lucas was the one who pointed him out to me and Nathan. I told him at the time that we don't buy things just because we want them. That day he was so sad. I told him that he would have to wait and see if it was an Easter prize but not to be sad if it wasn't. He never asked about it again, and I almost didn't get it but it was 30% off on Tuesday so I thought it would be perfect for the hard boiled egg prize. I was right! Now, Bridget also found a hard boiled egg. How did this happen? This year we hid 2 because she is almost 1 1/2 and we just knew it would be a fight, so here she is...

She LOVES to play games, and matching is one that she is trying so hard to figure out. Memory is a fun game for everyone and she thought it was pretty cool to set up so this was a great prize for her! Lucas is very good at Matching so I think he can teach Bridget and they can have fun on our afternoons that are too hot to be outside. It was a great little day!
