{Party Time}

Wayne's World {Party Time} excellent! (air guitar)

It finally came and went. Lucas was very polite and patient all morning while we picked up Larke (Kathy had her baby last night.) Larke, Lucas and Bridget helped me set up tables and then we headed down the large hill, I didn't really realize how large it was till all of us had to hike up it after the tour.
Anyway...here are pictures because that is what you all want to see right?

Fireman Mark handed out fire hats while we waited for Robert to get there. We had fun playing and picking the flowers off of the bushes. Hahaha.

(Don't worry I am printing the pics for everyone because they are ALL cute)
We went inside for a tour of the house, and then we got to see the Ambulance. The kids learned a little and then got to go inside of it. They thought this was pretty cool.

I have to say it was so cute to see everyone in their hats following the fire dudes around. Bridget did not wait for the fire man to help her up, she did it "all herself"

One of my favorites...

Then we went to the firetruck and they learned some more and they were able to go inside the firetruck, on the other end they got a Badge!

Fireman Martine (cute Italian) explained a few things about the truck and Lucas was telling him all that he already knew about firetrucks. He would ask a question and Lucas knew it. Then Lucas would ask a question like, "Why are there so many hoses, there is only one fire at a time" It was so funny to see Martine's face, like a 3 year old really asked me this?

He wanted the kids to try out the hose so they could see how heavy it was. Anna opted to stay with Veronica (my sister in law) and that was A-O-K

They showed us all of the bells and whistles of the firetruck too.

But the pièce de resistance was that each kid got to shoot water out of the fire hose and see how the firemen really do it. And this my friends was Lucas's DREAM COME TRUE!

Every kid liked it but this was a moment for my little boy. I even took Elijah and made him do it and I told Anna that we should do it together.

If you click on Bridget you can see that she is just as dark as Mr. January ahem, I mean Martine. Hahaha.

They asked if Robert and Bridget were siblings because they were together the whole time. I said no, he is Lucas's best friend which means Bridget likes him a lot too. :) They also asked if she was related to Noah and I said they were just cousins. I think Bridget is a chameleon like my Dad...she blends into her surroundings. Hahaha.
The firemen had set up several photo ops for us and then we headed up the hill for the usual...presents, lunch and cupcakes.

Nathan grilled some Hot Digity Dogs. Scarlett was happy just standing watching the kids.

I have to thank my mother in law who took care of Scarlett the WHOLE time. I couldn't have done this party without her help with my bebe.
While we were waiting for things to cook Lucas opened his presents. He was shocked to get them because all he really wanted was a party. He did tell me later that his did want presents too and was glad they came on the same day.

This present was really for me. I know it was.
He loved everything, but this I thought was so cool.

This was Nathan's favorite book when he was Lucas's age. It has some scribbles in it that Nathan drew himself. Grandma Witte wrote a cute note in it and Lucas has only asked me to read it 6 times since we have been home.
We did the cake thing. He couldn't decide chocolate or vanilla so I made both...a swirly cupcake. We went ahead and used 4th of July sprinkles...he wanted all stars so it worked.

He looks pleased.

Bridget is just a mess.
We played on the playground but it was a little too hot so we played Red Light, Green Light. Which turned into this...

The girls just watched the boys in puzzlement.
We tried to play one more game but Nathan totally ruined it. I can say that because I am married to him and I am still mad about it. :P Just Kidding.

We came back to the tables to play with our goodie bags.

Then it was 10 minutes till pick up time so we read Nathan's book. Lucas was so happy that his friends came and that they had fun. They crashed on the way home so Nathan and I picked up some Sonic slushes and when Lucas woke up he had something else waiting for him...

A HELMET and FIRETRUCK SCOOTER from Grandpa and Grandma Horn!
This is where my son is right now. He won't get off of it. Haha.

I am glad everything turned out well and that everyone but Emily could come. He is really lucky to have such great friends. On the way home he told me that Robert colored the paper just for him and that Anna wrote him a special note. They are in his treasure drawer. Aww.

I hope you don't get sick of Lucas because his birthday isn't until Wednesday and there is more to come. My baby is 3 people this is a BIG deal! Every picture is clickable so have fun checking them all out!

I’m trying to love as he did, in all that I like to say.
At times I yam tempting to make a wong choice,
But I try to listen as the still small choice lispers,
“Love one another as cheses loves you.
Try to show kindness in all dat you do.
Be gentle and woving in did and in vrought,

Here is the link so you can sing along HERE click the orang play button in the upper left corner.

P.S. Lucas is very excited for his party tomorrow. I am glad because I am SICK of hearing about it! :)

For My Love

Nathan has been out of town. Unfortunately most of the summer he travels, it is just how the banking business works. I have been hard on him lately because we don't get to do the usual travel stuff or summer vacations because we have to work around his work schedule. I know it could be worse, he could be an accountant and be swamped until April 16th (the day after tax day) but I still am such a brat when he has to leave me with 3 small children for long extensions of time.

I wanted him to know that I do love him and appreciate all that he does for our family and for me, so I thought since he is still in Clearwater, FL I would send him a post.

I love you Nathan! :)

Four Months

...has come and gone. It is sad to think that my littlest Witte is in fact my littlest. She is so much skinner than the other two yet so much like them. She is almost sitting up entirely on her own. She can roll any which way and has the funniest laugh of anyone in this house. Its like a squealing lion "squeal rawr, squeal, squeal" I love it.

A week ago she said good-bye to the swaddle.
She is in a size 3 diaper, and still such a sweetie. In her car seat her favorite thing to do is sit up and impress her daddy. She has to be holding something while she eats, not necessarily her bottle but something to keep her hands busy other wise she gets too distracted.

"You wanna piece of me?"

"Oh, Hi Mommy!"
Her reddish-orangish-auburnish hair is starting to come in and she is starting to really look like a mix between her older siblings.

She has the cutest smile, and her cheeks are deceiving, it looks like she is a huge baby but actually she is quite skinny and little and I love it. Finally a little baby!

She is such a lady, she always crosses her feet when she sits!
I can't believe she is four months already!?!
Her next appointment is in 2 weeks, she and her brother will be getting shots together!
Fun Times.

Friday thru Sunday

I didn't know Nathan was not working on Friday until Thursday morning. I was actually complaining that he never gets any of the holidays off when he told me that he had the 4th off and I said everyone does, its on a Saturday and he said if the banks are closed on Friday then I am off too. I was excited. I let him sleep in till 7:30am, where we packed the kids in the car and started our errands...
The usual weekender stores...Lowe's, Walmart, Sam's then we came home and started on project #1...here is a preview...

but before I get into that project I want to add that Nathan and I like to play tricks on each other and put Scarlett in Lucas's clothes and hand her to eachother saying something like..."Here take Lucas" and it is so weird because...often, we find ourselves doing a double take. See here:

Lucas at 4 months, and Scarlett 3 days shy of 4 months. These were my favorite jammies that Lucas ever had. I just wanted to share that.

After a full day of said project we had chicken quesadillas because I was too tired from painting, and Nathan decided to make the best quesadillas ever. Trust me, they were so good, the pans, and dishes he used are still all over the kitchen! Whatever.

We were supposed to go to Arvada but it poured Friday night so that didn't happen.

Saturday morning. The Arvada Stake always does a pancake breakfast, and you won't believe it there is a great attendance! Ahem. Anyway, I thought I was going to meet up with a few people I knew, but they didn't come and instead people from the Singles Ward and 5th ward that we knew where oohing and aahing over our kids. It was great. President Lewis at one point thought I had 6 kids, because I had all of the Witte babes around me, I assured him that we only had 3 in 2.5 years and he seemed relieved? Haha.

This is Lucas's first of three plates...he ate 6 pancakes and 2 whole sausages!

After breakfast we played with the frisbee that we brought and the one that RV brought.

They had fun with Grandpa Witte. Elijah was practicing TaiChi.

Chris tried to scare the little ones and Bridget was game. Noah was throwing to Nathan who was sick of the game playing and ready for some serious frisbee, Noah was the only one who complied.

Lucas thought this was tackle frisbee. I am still trying to search the rules on the internet.

Lucas and Noah playing nicely.

Here is Scarlett with Grandma Witte, she was tired but didn't want to miss any of the story.
After the Breakfast we went to Veronica's to play for a bit. It was great fun. Then I met Nathan and Ryan back at the Witte's to see how the deck was coming along.

I laugh at this picture because everyone seems to be so in their element. Hahahaha.
After Ryan left, Chris and Megan (Chris's super cool girlfriend) made my kids chicken fight.

Just Kidding.
We had a delicious BBQ dinner including grilled corn(my way) and then pies! YUM-O!
Before we left Bridget wanted to make sure her Daddy did a good job.

We tried to rush home so we could see the fire works but the kids fell asleep before we even started driving home! So at 9pm we put the kids in their beds and watched the amazing show on our street. We have never in the 4 almost 5 years we have lived in our house seen the fireworks on our street. It was truly spectacular. Our next door neighbor a.k.a "Hiro" from Heroes the show...made me see fireworks in a whole new light. Everytime one would go off he would comment "That was really beautiful" or "Wow, that some loud sound" (he is asian)
We would laugh at eachother and then he let me do some bottle launchers and I even got to do some sparklers with their kids. My parents NEVER let me do it as a kid. Our neighbor was nice enough to give us a box of sparklers for our little ones who were sleeping. I am saving them for FHE tomorrow. It was a great weekend. How about yours?

Big Dry Creek - Strong Like Bull

Today we went to the Big Dry Creek Park and it is one of the neatest parks out here. Here are some shots of just the park...

It is great for all ages including 5 and up. It's play ground is covered by canvas, so a lot of the area is shaded. There is a little woodchip/sand area with swings and a see saw and a little table to play in. Lucas climbed the wall all by himself.

And they had 4 of these spinny things that everyone seemed to like...

They had two different see-saws, this one was so cool...

Jeanette and Katie came with their kids, and it was nice to have little ones for Bridget to play with. Lucas played with the older kids there, and it was really warm.
I pulled out the water guns so they could cool off. Bridget and Keegan tried to squirt each other, but their hands are too little.

Bridget never ceases to amaze me, this chick is so strong. I look over at Lucas who is shouting "look at me" on this tower of rope thing and then I see Bridget getting on it all by herself, I had to physically remove her from this device because she wouldn't get off of it. She even cried because she was not ready to get off.

Jeanette and I discovered this magic 8 ball thing too...

Nick and Alli and Keegan were so cute Bridget was too of course, but it was just nice to talk while the kids played.

Scarlett was cracking jokes the whole time. It was great!

Did I mention they had a sprinkler area? Just kidding, it was so hot all the kids had fun running in the water, especially Nick and Alli!

Lucas just liked getting wet! Hahaha.
The picture of the day is...
Bridget and Alli were DRENCHED! Jeanette, Katie and I were laughing so hard that we weren't paying attention and we were sprayed too! Alli got the worst of it...

It was a hot and fun time at park day. I love that our ward picks great parks to go to even if some of them are a little drive, you have to get in your car anyway so why not go to a great park?

Scarlett was OUT!
I'm thinking we might have to do a Witte activity at this one, because it had all the amenities right there, a bathroom, a pavilion 3 actually. Plenty of parking and lots of places to play. Thanks Katie for adding this one to the list on my behalf!
